Greetings, gals and gents!

Cashmere - in the raw
According to the calendar, spring has sprung.  Of course, Mother Nature forgot to inform the Midwest or the Northeast, where they are experiencing snow storms.  Much as I love Las Vegas and its beautiful weather, this is one time I'd almost trade places with someone from back there and the reason can be summed up in one word - cashmere.

I admit to being a cashmere junkie.  I'm getting shots and have joined a Twelve Step program.  I love all things cashmere, from the mundane gloves and scarves to the more zingy track suits and  underwear.  The wool is soft, dense, luxurious, soft, warm, soft and did I mention cashmere is soft?  It comes from goats that live in Nepal, China, Iran and Afghanistan and is actually the soft underside of the hair, making it difficult to extract and therefore expensive.  The location of the hair on the body of the goat also plays a big part in determining expense, as does its color, which can range from pure white to chocolatey brown.  The quality of a finished cashmere piece is denoted by its "gauge", or how tightly the garment is knitted and it's "ply", or weight.

Snuggy!
Ok, I can hear it from here......."Lindsay, shut up and let us just enjoy the fabric without knowing everything about it!".   Ok, I get that.  Cashmere is a luxurious fabric that makes me feel good just touching it!  So, forget my lecture and find cashmere!  Where?  EVERYWHERE!  It's never been as popular as it is now, although demand for it never drops off.  Why?  Because "trend" is today, but "style" is forever!!!
